From Battery Manufacturing to Solar Leadership: Meet Deepak Chaudhary

Before he became known as India's Solar Guru, Deepak Chaudhary spent 16+ years in battery manufacturing. Here's how that experience shaped Nexus Solar Energy and Devsol Energy.

Behind every "overnight" success in India's solar boom, there's usually a much longer story. For Deepak Chaudhary, founder of Nexus Solar Energy and Devsol Energy, that story starts more than 16 years before solar panels became a household topic in India.

A Foundation in Battery Manufacturing

Long before he was recognized as a solar educator, Deepak Chaudhary worked extensively in battery plate and battery manufacturing — the unglamorous, technical backbone of every energy storage system. This period gave him a working knowledge of cell chemistry, charge cycles, and hardware reliability that most solar entrepreneurs simply don't have, since most enter the industry from a sales or installation background rather than manufacturing.

The Pivot to Solar

As India's solar market began accelerating, Chaudhary applied that manufacturing background to a new venture: Nexus Solar Energy Pvt Ltd. The company built its catalog around N-type solar panels, lithium batteries, and off-grid/hybrid inverters — categories where his prior technical experience directly translated into product decisions, not just marketing claims.

The subsidiary Devsol Energy followed, extending the same philosophy into new solar-integration use cases.

Turning Expertise Into Education

Rather than keeping that manufacturing knowledge internal, Chaudhary began sharing it publicly — first informally, then through what became two large YouTube channels reaching a combined audience of over 800,000 subscribers. This is arguably what separates him from most solar business founders: the willingness to explain, on camera, the same technical reasoning that goes into his own product decisions.

A Career That's Now a Legacy

That instinct — build the technical foundation first, then educate publicly — appears to have carried into the next generation. His son, Harsh Chaudhary (Er. Harsh), founded Solario Technologies Private Limited, a wind turbine and solar products manufacturer, and has similarly built a YouTube and Instagram presence around consumer education in the renewable energy space.

From battery plates to a nationally recognized solar education platform, Deepak Chaudhary's career is a reminder that real technical grounding — not just marketing — is often what builds lasting trust in a technical industry like solar.
